Would It Be Bad To Use SlimFast and Hoodia Dex-L10 At The Same Time?

I’m wondering if it would be o.k. to use SlimFast and Dex-L10 Hoodia Gordonii together. -HoneyBee

HoneyBee:

It would not be bad at all to use SlimFast and Hoodia Dex L10 together. In fact, the combination of a protein drink and hoodia could make for a very powerful appetite suppressant and terrific weight loss aid. However, there are a couple things to consider…

While the idea is a good one, the two specific brands you are considering aren’t the greatest. For starters, SlimFast isn’t the greatest meal replacement on the market. It has a lot of sugar compared to the amount of protein it contains - more than three times more! If you take a look at the SlimFast product label, you’ll see there is 34g of sugar and only 10g of protein per serving.

You would be better off making your own meal replacement/protein drink by using whey protein or some other protein powder of choice and mixing it with water or skim milk. It would be cheaper, much healthier, and more effective because most protein powders will have at least 20g of protein per scoop! You could also add hoodia to your protein shake and take care of two birds with one stone. You can read my article on making your own protein hoodia shake to see how simple it is to do.

I’m also not a big fan of Hoodia Gordonii Dex-L10. Why? Because I’m not totally convinced that the product contains authentic hoodia gordonii - or at least enough of it to effectively suppress appetite. There are several things you want to look for when you buy hoodia, but the two most important are CITES certificates and independent lab test results. You’ll find these on the websites of companies who sell authentic hoodia gordonii. If you visit the Dex L10 Hoodia Gordonii website, you’ll see they claim that their product is certified and tested by independent labs. However, they don’t provide any proof on their website!

What’s more interesting is that Hoodia Dex L10 was tested by another company who had the product tested by an independant lab. This test was very recent as it was conducted in January of 2007. Hoodia Dex actually failed the test! The tests found zero trace of hoodia gordonii. You can read about the test that was done by clicking here.

If Hoodia Dex-L10 is truly certified and lab tested as they claim, they shouldn’t have any problems displaying these documents on their website. It’s standard practice to display these documents for those companies who use authentic hoodia gordonii in their diet pills. You can see examples of these documents when you visit reputable companies like Desert Burn, Hoodoba, and Hoodia Hoodia. These companies not only claim their products are certified and tested by independent labs - they provide proof to backup those claims.

For these reasons I do not recommend Hoodia Dex L10. Until I see CITES certificates and the actual independent lab test results on their website I’m not convinced the product contains authentic hoodia gordonii. The fact that the product failed a test earlier this year doesn’t help either. If I was going to spend my hard earned money on hoodia, I would prefer to buy from a company that I know for a fact is providing 100% authentic hoodia gordonii.

The brand of hoodia you decide to go with is entirely up to you, but I wouldn’t recommend Dex L10 Hoodia Gordonii. Regardless of what brand you go with, your general idea of taking hoodia along with a protein drink is an excellent one!

Hope this information helps.
