What Do You Think About Hoodia Bites?

I’m thinking about buying a product called, Hoodia Bites. How do you rate them? -Cyndee

Cyndee:

Hoodia Bites, in my opinion, are just another gimmick. While I believe traditional hoodia supplements such as capsules and liquid products can potentially suppress appetite, I have little faith in Hoodia Bites.

According to the hoodia bites website, each chewable contains 250mg of “active hoodia.” If you read the information on their website carefully enough, you’ll notice they actually use hoodia gordonii extract, which is the least effective type of hoodia. Some argue that hoodia extracts aren’t even possible to produce. Either way, the point is Hoodia Bites uses a type of hoodia gordonii that is questionable at best when it comes to its abilities to suppress appetite.

Assuming for a minute that hoodia extract is effective, Hoodia Bites only contains 250mg of hoodia gordonii extract per chewable. Based on my research, there is no way that such a small amount of hoodia could effectively suppress appetite - especially in 5 minutes as their website claims! Most people will need a minimum of 2,250mg of hoodia gordonii per day and as much as 3,000mg for it to be effective in suppressing appetite. In addition, it usually takes 45-60 minutes before it starts to work (that’s why all those hoodia labels say to take hoodia diet pills 30-60 minutes before eating).

The other concern I have about Hoodia Bites is the authenticity of the hoodia gordonii in the product itself. Typically, companies that sell authentic hoodia gordonii supplements, such as those listed on my best rated hoodia page, will display two very important documents that prove their hoodia is authentic. You’ll see a clear copy of the CITES certificate (a document required to export hoodia gordonii from South Africa) and independent lab test results that show conclusively that the product is authentic. You will not find these documents or proof of evidence on the Hoodia Bites website. It’s possible they use hoodia gordonii, but without these two things it’s impossible to know for sure.

Finally, the price of Hoodia Bites is very high for what you are getting. It costs $80 for a one month supply of Hoodia Bites! That’s ridiculous for only 250mg of hoodia. YOu can buy a one month supply of 400mg hoodia gordonii powder capsules (not hoodia extract) for as little as $30, and you can find 750mg hoodia gordonii capsules for as little as $50. Check out the prices of the hoodia supplements I recommend and you’ll clearly see that Hoodia Bites is far from a good deal - especially given the small amount of hoodia gordonii you’re getting per chewable and considering it’s a hoodia extract.

If you are considering hoodia supplements, I strongly recommend you stick with traditional supplements such as capsules and liquid products. Hoodia Bites, hoodia patches, hoodia pops, and so on are just products riding the hoodia bandwagon, if you ask me. They do very little in suppressing appetite and assisting in weight loss over the long term.

I hope this helps.
