Are Fat Burners Safe To Take With Hoodia?

I am considering taking fat burners to help with my weight loss and was wondering if I can take hoodia diet pills and fat burners at the same time. -Grace

Grace:

Hoodia gordonii works by simply tricking the brain into thinking you are full. Basically, hoodia is a natural appetite suppressant. Fat burners, on the other hand, claim to either increase engergy or stimulate metabolism. Given what each does, hoodia will have no affect on fat burners so you can take them at the same time if you want. However, if I can be honest with you, I’m not a big fan of fat burners in general. The research on fat burners is sketchy at best and we don’t know enough about them to determine with certainty that they work or if they are safe over the long term.

The only natural fat burner I’m a fan of is green tea because it is safe and may have numerous health benefits. However, even its weight loss benefits are limited. For example, some studies suggest that green tea can aid in weight loss by helping the body burn as much as 60-70 calories per day. While that may sound like a lot, that would result in less than a half pound of weight loss per month - or roughly six pounds per year. And to achieve those results you’d need to drink 4-5 cups of green tea per day!

Granted, any amount of weight loss helps but you’re not going to lose a significant amount of weight over the long term with green tea alone. The point is, even fat burners that may work to some degree such as green tea, they won’t produce significant weight loss results long term.

Some fat burners such as green tea may help as part of an overall weight loss program but don’t rely on them solely to lose weight. I don’t know what specific fat burners you are considering, but regardless you can take them with hoodia as hoodia will have no affect on them.

Best of luck to you!
