Two More Things To Look For When You Buy Hoodia

After doing some more research I’ve uncovered a couple more things you can look for when you buy hoodia to ensure you get authentic hoodia gordonii.

The US Dept. of Wildlife requires all companies based in the US who sell their hoodia gordonii overseas to obtain a C.I.T.E.S. certificate. This requirement is due to the fact that hoodia gordonii is an endangered species. If you stumble across a company website and they are based in the U.S. but will ship their hoodia products overseas, check to see if they have a C.I.T.E.S. certificate to do so. If they don’t, they’re either violating this regulation or they’re not using authentic hoodia gordonii in their products.

The other thing you can look for is found on the product label. The FDA requires all hoodia sellers to specify on their labels the part of the hoodia gordonii plant that was used in their products. If you don’t see that on the product label, they are violating this regulation or they don’t use authentic hoodia gordonii.

These two items have been added to my page that discusses the things to look for when you buy hoodia.
