Doctor Says Patients Lost an Average of 10 Pounds with Hoodia

Most of the evidence on the effectiveness of hoodia diet pills is anecdotal There have been very few studies done to-date on them. While testimonies from actual dieters are helpful in determining if hoodia gordonii diet pills are worth trying, a testimony from a doctor and a small clinical study is even better.

I read a brief article the other day from Turks.US Daily News about a doctor from Bucks County Clinical Research Center who recently studied the effects of hoodia weight loss diet pills. The article says he only tested “one brand” but they don’t say which specific brand was tested. That is a real bummer because it would be nice to know which brand had such positive results.

At any rate, Dr. Richard Goldfarb, the medical director for the Bucks County Clinical Research Center, conducted a small study consisting of ten participants. They each were given one capsule containing authentic hoodia gordonii one hour before every meal for 28 days. They were instructed not to do anything else during that period including dieting or exercise.

The article says Dr. Goldfarb was amazed by the results as the average weight loss among the participants was ten pounds, or roughly 3.3% of their body weight. What I also found interesting is that the participants didn’t start feeling any effects of the hoodia until about a week into the study. When they did, the effect was dramatic.

After about a week into the study, their caloric intake decreased by
almost half than what they normally consumed!

As for any side effects, Dr. Goldfarb said they were minor. Mild stomach upset was the only side effect reported during the study.

Before you rush to your favorite online nutritional store to stock up on hoodia diet pills, please keep this study in perspective. While it’s certainly promising, by no means was this study large enough to conclude with certainty that hoodia weight loss pills work. However, it does add to the mounting evidence on the effectiveness of these supplements.

I would just caution that if you are making a buying decision based on this study, make sure you buy hoodia diet pills that contain 100% authentic hoodia gordonii or you will have no chance of having the same results. I recommend Hoodoba or Desert Burn. Furthermore, keep hoodia’s role in perspective. It only suppresses appetite and is only a short-term aid to weight loss. For permanent and effective long-term weight loss, you still need to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly.
