Hoodia Gordonii: Weight Loss Pills
Hoodia weight loss pills are quite a popular topic nowadays when it comes to weight loss. Hoodia diet pills may not work as advertised, despite the marketing hype and the promise by so many supplement companies that you’re guaranteed results.
Let’s first have a briefing on what Hoodia is before going on to its role in weight loss. Hoodia is basically a succulent and there are 13 varieties of the Hoodia Plant, but hoodia gordonii is the only one capable of suppressing appetite. The hoodia gordonii plant is found in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. The San tribe or Bushmen have been using Hoodia to prevent hunger during their long hours of hunting. They cut off a small piece of the plant, peel it, and then eat it raw. A tiny fragment can suppress their appetite for hours. Seeing the effects, companies began making Hoodia weight loss pills and other products related to hoodia. The idea behind these products is obvious. By taking hoodia weight loss pills your appetite will be suppressed so you’ll eat less. Result is that you’ll lose weight.
It sounds great, but that’s doesn’t always apply. That is why hoodia and weight loss isn’t necessarily synonymous. Not all hoodia weight loss pills are made equal. While there are a few truthful companies that sell authentic Hoodia weight loss pills, while some tend to scam buyers. Without authentic hoodia gordonii, these products are worthless.
The reason why scams are so prevalent is because Hoodia Gordonii is very scarce. It’s only found in South Africa and there are tight restrictions on the exportation of the plant and the demand for it is high. This led to a rapid increase in the price of hoodia gordonii. Back then, a kilo was under $20. Today, a kilo sells for over $250.
